Oasis - Be Here Now

Hoje, há 14 anos atrás, era lançado o terceiro álbum de uma das mais importantes bandas dos anos 90.
Depois dos grandes álbuns Definitely Maybe e (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, o Oasis lança o Be Here Now, já no declínio do Britpop.

Muito esperado pelos fãs e pelos críticos após o sucesso inicial da banda, a recepção de Be Here Now foi um tanto negativa. Com músicas longas (a menor, exlucindo o instrumental All Around The World Reprise, tem 4:22 minutos) e letras um pouco... estranhas. O próprio Noel Gallagher não gosta muito do álbum, mas uma coisa que eu costumo dizer é que um dos pontos positivos do Liam em relação ao seu irmão é a sua opinião sobre esse disco. A propósito, esse é o álbum que em minha opinião, Liam canta melhor.

Os 70 minutos de Be Here Now podem não parecer tão atraentes, mas não se deve julgar o livro pela capa (se bem que esse caso, a capa também é ótima. Jogaram um Rolls Royce na piscina!), cada minuto do álbum é muito bom. Desde os sete primeiros da “recriação” de Wonderwall que é D’You Know What I Mean, passando pelos clássicos seis de Stand By Me e cinco de  Don’t Go Away e os incríveis sete da subestimada It’s Gettin' Better (Man!!).
Quem nos dera ter de volta o Oasis dessa época. Além de tudo, a turnê desse álbum foi provavelnte a melhor da banda, e isso um fã que tenha ido ao show no G-Mex em Manchester pode dizer melhor do que eu.

Today, 14 years ago, the third album of one the most important bands from the 90's was being released.
After the greats Definitely Maybe and (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, Oasis releases Be Here Now, in the Britpop's decline.

Very expected by the fans and the critics after the big inicial sucess, Be Here Now reception was negative. With long songs (the shortest, excluding All Around The World Reprise, has 4:22 minutes) and some lyrics a little bit nonsense, Noel Gallagher himself doesn't like the album that much. One thing I use to say is that if Liam has something better than Noel, is his opinion about this album. By the way, in my opinion, BHN features Liam's best studio perfomance.

The 70 minutes of Be Here Now can be not so attractive, but you shall not judge the book by it's cover (in this case, the cover is amazing too. They've thrown a Rolls Royce inside the pool!), each and every minute of the album is great. Since the first seven of the Wonderwall "recreation" that is D’You Know What I Mean?, passing through the classic six of Stand By Me and Don’t Go Away's five ones, and the incredible seven of the underestimated It’s Gettin' Better (Man!!).
Wish we could have back the Oasis of this time. Besides everything, the tour of this album was probably the best of the band. And that, anyone who had been in Manchester G-Mex on 1997 can say it better than me.
